TJDA is a non profit organization dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of Texas Children in any juvenile justice related institutional setting

The Texas Juvenile Detention Association was formed in 1974 exclusively for charitable, scientific, and educational purposes, including the promotion of professional pre- and post- adjudicated services, and detention services to juveniles

For the purposes of the organization, juvenile detention shall be defined as the temporary care of children of the juvenile age as defined by the Texas Family Code in a secure setting awaiting court disposition or receiving treatment
